We are excited about Harmony Day on Tuesday 24th March.
The children will come together in the morning for a Welcome to Country and a story. The children will receive their passports ready for their “Travels” around the world (experiences prepared by our families and staff). The 4 year old children will be buddied up with the 3 year old children to help them on the journey from one cultural experience to another. The children will break for snack and maybe share in some foods from other regions. The experiences, talks, demonstrations or stories from our families will be incorporated into the areas around the room.
This will be an exciting adventure for the children where they can have the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of a variety of different cultures and learn that although we are similar and different in many ways to each other, we all belong.
Orange is the official Harmony Day colour and we would invite the children to wear a touch of orange as part of our celebrations.
