Hi, my name is Kim Costigan and I am the Director and 3 year old group Teacher at Rangeview Pre-School. I have been working in Early Childhood since 2002 following 4 years of teaching Primary School and then having my two girls. I began in Early Childhood as an Additional Needs Assistant for Connections and then worked as an Educator in a 3 and 4 year old program.
I have been Teaching at Rangeview Pre-School since 2009 after completing a Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education and I currently attend a range of Professional Development opportunities each year to continue to build my knowledge, skills and understanding of Early Childhood Education. We have an amazing supportive team of Teachers and Educators, Committee and Community at Rangeview Pre-School and it is an absolute pleasure to work alongside such supportive and caring people for the benefits of the children and their families.
I believe that children are unique, capable, competent and inquisitive individuals full of potential who learn through play. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them. I enjoy the delightful task of providing experiences and environments that are diverse and open-ended, that encourage, stimulate and extend children’s natural curiosity, interests, experiments and ideas. It is amazing to be able to observe, support and interact with children as they explore, discover and investigate during play and to encourage and guide them in their growth, development and learning.
Our kindergarten community is enthusiastic and supportive and wonderful to be a part of. I am thoroughly enjoying my time at Rangeview Pre-School, it is an absolute pleasure to ‘work’ here.
